SMART 14c

All API RP 14C required safety device testing is scheduled, validated and the results documented within SMART 14C.

  • SMART has unparalleled flexibility when it comes to selecting worksheets.
  • Operators can build their worksheets based on how they perform their testing and inspection activities.
  • Build worksheets for the entire platform or include only the devices to be tested that day or week
  • Testing worksheets can be sorted by schedule, location, component, or device type.
  • When test results are entered into SMART, the results are validated based on specific formulas. These formulas are configured into SMART to ensure test results are compared to the appropriate standards.
  • Testing and inspection schedules can be configured for any frequency or test validation.
  • Waivers and exceptions to the standard rules allow for accurate testing frequencies and reporting
  • All API RP 14C required equipment including but not limited to, forced rotation of ESD stations, down-hole valves, and casing pressures subject to API RP 90.
  • Track device failures and identify drifting trends by make and model
  • Assists the user by performing all calculations.
  • All test results are stored in a database that can be mined and analyzed for decision making and process improvement

There are many reports available within SMART, among the most popular are:

The BSEE Report is the record of all safety device testing

  • Usually printed and filed each month
  • Can be made available electronically for BSEE Inspectors during platform or e-inspections.
  • Enables users to provide testing information for any level of detail to make it easier to demonstrate compliance testing for a single device or a group of devices, over a specified time period.

The Compliance Status Report, which can be run for a platform, field, or the entire organization, gives you an overview of the current status of the compliance effort. This report allows you to quickly see:

  • How many tests are required,
  • How many have been completed (total and percentages),
  • How many items are in each Warning Level,
  • How many are past their Out of Compliance date.
  • Failed tests
  • Includes links to lists of the items contained within each category so it is easy to see exactly what is happening.

Device Reports enable users to see testing information and devices not included on the BSEE report to allow for additional analysis or reporting needs.

As regulations change and operators apply new technology to meet regulatory and operational requirements new functionality is added to keep you in compliance.

Continuously evolving to meet the needs of the regulators and the business, that’s SMART.
